Hawker Demon

The Hawker Demon was a two seat development of the Hawker Hart.
Australia ordered the Demon in 1934 to replace the outdated Westland Wapitis
of No 1 and 3 SQN RAAF but also ended up serving with 2,4,21,22 and 23
SQN RAAF. The Australian version of the Demon differed from the British
model due to the replacement of a tail wheel instead of a skid and a more
powerful variant of the Rolls-Royce Kestral. The Hawker Demon was
employed on many duties including target towing and army co-op exercises.
The Museums example is under restoration to Airworthy status.
